Twin Fairs, ~3,000 Exhibitors from 20+ Economies: The Hong Kong Autumn Lighting Fairs Open October 26–30 — What to See “Beyond Lighting”

One of Asia’s most influential lighting trade platforms returns to both sides of Victoria Harbour.

Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the 28th Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) (October 27–30, HKCEC) and the 11th Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo (October 26–29, AsiaWorld-Expo) open this month. Under the theme “Beyond Lighting,” the twin fairs bring together roughly 3,000 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions, centered on four directions: smart connectivity, healthy living, immersive spaces and sustainability.

Autumn Lighting Fair: Connected Lighting Zone Returns, New LED Display Zone Debuts

The Connected Lighting zone returns with about 70 leading global brands, including Signify, TUYA, Inventronics, Denmark’s Viso Systems and Finland’s Casambi, alongside showcases from the Connectivity Standards Alliance, DALI Alliance, SILA-EMN Alliance and Zhaga Alliance — plus a first-ever appearance by KNX, the global standard for smart buildings and home automation.

Highlights not to miss:

  • Debut of the “LED Display Solutions” zone: 8K ultra-large displays, LED video walls, flexible panels and smart meeting systems, building a complete commercial-display ecosystem;
  • Signify × Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team: an immersive racing-simulator experience extending motorsport atmosphere lighting from screen to physical space, plus showcase of healthy-light technologies VitaUp (low-dose UVB light supporting natural vitamin D production) and BioUp (circadian-adaptive lighting);
  • Immersive scene experiences: Casambi teams up with ERCO on the Artisan Café, where lighting shifts through four day-cycle scenes following circadian rhythms.

Outdoor & Tech Light Expo: Smart Cities and a New Solar-Plus-Storage Track

The concurrent Outdoor and Tech Light Expo is organized into three core zones — Smart poles & solutions; Outdoor, industrial and technical lighting; Landscape and architectural lighting — with a newly added photovoltaic and energy-storage solutions section. Exhibits include AIoT cloud-based smart streetlight control systems deployed in major smart-city projects, reflecting the convergence of smart-city infrastructure and professional lighting.

The curatorial logic of this year’s twin fairs points to the industry’s next stop: lighting is no longer about selling “lamps,” but about selling healthy light environments, smart connected systems, and sustainable energy solutions. For buyers and brands, these three threads are the coordinate system for product definition over the next two years.
